Next is the payoff: A 35 minute DVD companion that showcases two videos from arguably the strongest tracks off Witching Hour, 'Destroy Everything You Touch' and 'Sugar'. 'Destroy...' is kind of creepy and set in a weird mixed-media winter wonderland, not bad. 'Sugar'' is more of a literal interpretation of the band exchanging morals with actors using the main verse "If I give you sugar will you give me, something elusive and temporary", add some cool shots of them playing their instruments as a full band and you've got yourself a solid video.
Part 3 of the DVD is awesome with "Once Upon a Time in the Past: Ladytron in China". Starting off like a scenic journey a la Lost In Translation, it shows the band winding down, talking to people candidly, and actually enjoying themselves. We are so used to seeing this mysterious image that they project with their unisex-militant uniforms and now we're allowed to see them sound-checking, having a good time, and talking honestly to reporters and fans with some beautiful images of China. The DVD alone is worth the price if you're a big Ladytron fan.
